Hotel Hugo SoHo Hotel Review: Boasting industrial-chic details and a desirable location near the cobblestone streets and cast-iron façades of Manhattan’s SoHo district, Hotel Hugo resides within the up-and-coming historic Hudson Square neighborhood just a few blocks away from the river. Here, architect Marcello Pozzi has skillfully merged luxury and bohemian flair to create accommodations that offer sumptuous details and décor with a modern, edgy vibe. The hotel’s 124 lofty guest rooms and suites feature industrial-era details along the lines of customized wood furnishings and eclectic retro light fixtures, while fresh touches such as gorgeous Italian-tiled bathrooms with rain showerheads and Argan Source toiletries never let visitors forget they’re at the forefront of contemporary comfort. The glassy, glossy enclosed rooftop bar is right in line with the hotel’s sense of style, and under the direction of executive chef Carlo Bigi, the artsy Il Principe delights diners with a menu of authentic Italian/Mediterranean fare and classic cocktails. (If you have the means, the oasis-like private dining room showcases a lovely vertical garden wall and airy skylight.) Proximity to Greenwich Village, TriBeCa and iconic NYC landmarks make Hotel Hugo a great spot from which to splash out and explore.
