Hotel Madera, A Kimpton Hotel Hotel Review

: Offering excellent proximity to Dupont Circle, Embassy Row and other downtown DC attractions, this hotel combines the selling point of convenience with the fact that it is just far enough off the main drag to provide a quiet stay. Style-wise, this is not your standard hotel. Rather, it is like an exhibit from a modern art museum---albeit, one that allows visitors to sleep over. Guest rooms display an interesting combination of all-out comfort and modern flair; dark, natural tones are complemented with modern art, exotic plants and tiger stripe pillows. The relaxing color scheme is carried throughout the building, emphasizing golds and blues. A complimentary wine hour is a nightly favorite with guests, and the adjacent bistro and lounge, Firefly, is a local favorite. It is centered on an enormous tree trunk hung with lanterns, and attracts a steady crowd throughout the day and into the night. While there is no fitness center on-site, guests can get passes to the neighboring YMCA.
