Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa Hotel Review: In November 2011, Hyatt Regency Waikiki Beach Resort & Spa emerged with completely reinvigorated common areas, a refreshed poolside lounge and bar and an upgraded pool deck. It also debuted a new Regency Club Lounge and two destination restaurants: Japengo and Shor American Seafood Grill. With all of these enhancements, the non-smoking hotel is one of the premier lodgings in Waikiki. Its full-service luxury spa is one of the best in town, and the spacious pool and deck overlooks all the action on Waikiki Beach (located just across the street). The rooms are located in two identical towers, offering some of the best views of Waikiki and the city. The top accommodations are the Regency Club rooms, which offer expedited check-in and a lounge atop the Diamond Head Tower, where privileged guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast; an international assortment of newspapers; evening wine, beer and hors d'oeuvres; and spectacular sunset views. In mid-2015, a $100 million renovation refreshed all rooms with Hawaiian-influenced style and spa-inspired bathrooms. Even if you don't stay at this hotel, you should check out the lobby. The impressive atrium has cascading waterfalls, lush jungle foliage and tropical flowers. The hotel charges an $18 resort fee per room/night, which covers high-speed Internet access, local paper, health club, beach amenities, cultural activities and local, toll-free and international phone calls (up to 60 minutes per stay).
