Inn on Summer Hill Hotel Review

: There aren't many places to stay in the beach town of Summerland, a few miles east of Santa Barbara proper, and the romantic Inn on Summer Hill is by far the best. The once-funky town created by spiritualists is now full of antique shops, and the two-story Cape Cod-style inn, with its gray and white fa├žade, is a short walk to a pristine beach and postage-stamp park. Its formal lobby is done up with floor-to-ceiling pine paneling and black leather settees. There are fifteen rooms and one suite, each with a fireplace, Jacuzzi, TV/VCR, down comforter and either a balcony or patio overlooking the ocean. Although the accommodations suffer seriously from highway traffic noise, they are filled with antiques and the work of local artists, and they have a decidedly country B&B style with tons of floral motifs competing for attention, full canopy beds and distressed woods. The deluxe suite comes with a separate living room, vaulted pine-paneled ceiling and French doors. Guests can relax by springing for an in-room massage package. Rates include a full breakfast with gourmet omelets, afternoon wine and cheese and evening dessert pastries.
