Jules' Undersea Lodge Hotel Review

: Named for Jules Verne, this marine life research resort is as close as most travelers will come to going 20,000 leagues under the sea. It's actually 21 feet below the surface of the water, and guests scuba in through a mangrove habitat. Once ensconced, they're free to use specially designed tubes with unlimited air (rather than scuba gear) for exploring. Guests can actually spend several nights underwater without surfacing. For scuba newbies, there's a three-hour class; divers can also be certified during their stay. Lodging here is a two-bedroom unit that can accommodate up to six people (generally two couples or families of six). There's a common room equipped with telephone, TV with DVD player and stereo, as well as a dining area. Both bedrooms have round, nearly four-foot windows with views of passing angelfish, barracudas and snappers. An on-site chef can prepare a gourmet dinner. The package price varies based on the number of people and the extravagance of meal choices.
