Ka'anapali Beach Club Hotel Review: Formerly the Embassy Vacation Resort, this property epitomizes a mega-resort. It is high-rise in style, and its lush landscaped grounds are home to an abundance of holiday pastimes. This beachfront compound is a self-sufficient destination complete with tropical grottos, waterfalls, a white sand beach and a one-acre free-form swimming pool with a 60-foot waterslide. The resort was designed for vacationing families, couples and business groups who like upscale comfort, reliability and easy access to the ocean. The 396 suites beat out the standard fare usually found in such places, with richly-colored décor and large tiled bathrooms with soaking tubs. They are also equipped with VCRs and kitchenettes. Dining choices include the North Beach Grille and Ohana Grill & Bar. Extras includes retail shops, a huge day spa, lots of convention space, day camp programs for kids and even a miniature golf course. Many guests never leave the hotel, which is a shame. A day trip away, they'll find the famed road to Hana and Haleakala National Park.
