La Maison Hotel Review: The name, La Maison, means house in French, but this hotel definitely exudes (at least its exterior) a California-Spanish feel with its L-shaped adobe layout and tiled roof. La Maison Hotel wants its guests to imagine themselves sunning in the South of France, which is partly achieved through its use of heavy carved wood furnishings and soothing Provencal colors. Guest rooms are cloaked in terracotta tiles, but that’s where the similarities end. Some rooms have chunky, four-poster beds while others have wet bars and bathrooms coated in marble. And, with this being Palm Springs, the heart of the house --- or, in this case, the maison --- is the swimming pool which is cradled by the L-shape configuration with loungers encircling the deck. Each stay includes a continental breakfast that will certainly appeal to your inner Francophile with lavender scones, croissants and generous-sized café lattes.
