Lakedale Resort at Three Lakes Hotel Review: One of the most beautiful regions in the world, the San Juan Islands in the Pacific Northwest are a mecca for nature lovers. Among favorite destinations in this area is the main San Juan Island, home to the charming town of Friday Harbor and the 82-acre Lakedale Resort at Three Lakes. No matter what your “roughing it” comfort level, you’ll find it here. The grounds offer a ten-room hotel, three-bedroom lake house, log cabins, canvas “glamping” tents and classic campgrounds (tents and camping are available only in the summer season). The log cabins come with gas fireplaces and cedar decks, while the lake house has jetted tubs, a wood-burning fireplace, full kitchen and outdoor fire pit. The canvas tents do not have their own shower facilities (they are located nearby), but their ambience is worth the sacrifice; we also love the tents' “Toasty Toes” turndown service, with fleece-covered hot water bottles. There is also a fully renovated Airstream trailer for a retro stay. From the hotel to the tents, the overall style is woodsy chic, and all stays (with the exception of camping) include complimentary breakfast with egg dishes, homemade granola, homemade jams and more. The resort is home to three lakes, and activities include fishing, canoeing and paddle boating, as well as off-site sea kayaking and winery tours.
