Le Meridien Delfina Santa Monica Hotel Review: This old standard showcases one of the nicest hotel renovations to hit the area in a long time. Once reliable but somewhat bland, this property is now strong on sophistication, with sleek guest rooms and a pool area with a retro Palm Springs feel to it. Just four blocks from the beach, it offers light-filled accommodations with dark wood furnishings, crisp white linens and complementary oceanic hues. Many have large private terraces that resemble stair steps traveling down the whitewashed side of the building. West-facing terraces overlook the neighborhood down to the water. Cabana rooms look onto the pool, and four of the suites have hot tubs on their terraces. A selection of business amenities includes in-room work spaces with high-speed Internet access, meeting rooms and the Delfina Penthouse Ballroom overlooking the coastline and Santa Monica Mountains. There is also a 24-hour fitness center. Longitude Bar + Restaurant serves cocktails and small plates, while Zest Kitchen offers grab-and-go fare for breakfast and lunch. The hotel is nestled near the desirable Ocean Park neighborhood, a residential enclave of vintage beach houses set above funky Main Street overlooking the Pacific.
