Marco Beach Ocean Resort Hotel Review: Opened in 2001, this modern hotel resides on one of the Ten Thousand Islands on the Gulf of Mexico at the edge of the Everglades. Old World design touches include hand-painted murals, frescoes, marble flooring, trellises, intricate mosaics and elaborate faux flower arrangements. The island is located near Naples and is devoted to the charms of the simple life. The 98 all-suite accommodations feature balconies or garden terraces, and the bathrooms are appointed with marble showers. A rooftop garden houses the heated whirlpool, and you'll find replenishment at the Marco Beach Ocean Resort Spa with a soothing palette of treatments. The house restaurant, Sale e Pepe, serves a menu representing Italy’s ten regions. The Toulouse Lounge is fashioned after the Moulin Rouge-style bistros of early twentieth-century Paris, down to a Toulouse-Lautrec reproduction on the wall. Service is exquisitely on point.
