Mountain View Bed & Breakfast Hotel Review: This rambling house was built in the Colorado foothills in the 1920s as a writers retreat. It is totally out in the country, the kind of place where you can sit on the verandah or in the hot tub and watch deer and elk meander by. It is also ideally situated for exploring Red Rocks Park, paddling or skating on Evergreen Lake and dining at Tivoli Deer or The Fort. The four rooms in the main house and one in a nearby cabin are uniquely decorated with antiques, vintage photographs and handmade quilts. The cozy Rose Room, tucked up under the eaves, has a skylight above the queen-sized bed. The two-room Fireweed Cabin is decorated in a Southwestern theme and has a gas kiva fireplace. The innkeeper is a gourmet cook, so guests can expect breakfast fare such as blueberry cheese pancakes with honey-smoked bacon or smoked salmon eggs Benedict with dill hollandaise sauce.
