New World Inn Hotel Review: Located near Pensacola Bay, this hotel is part of the New World Landing complex of banquet, meeting and catering facilities. Its daunting façade looks somewhat military. Once inside, however, visitors are greeted by a grand staircase that feels as if it belongs in an Old English manor. Photos of celebrities who presumably have stayed here are displayed on the exposed brick walls of the front hall. Weddings are the mainstay of this property, due in part to its abundance of banquet spaces and on-site caterers. Each of the fifteen newly redecorated rooms are furnished in one of four distinctive styles: Spanish, French, Colonial American and Old English. They are also named after famous people from Pensacola's history. The Don Tristan Deluna room, for example, pays homage to the man who settled Pensacola in 1559. Some rooms have fine views of the nearby yacht marina. Quite a bit of period furniture is on display in the lobby as well as in the rooms. There's a small garden behind the hotel. Although it has a downtown location, this small inn retains a pleasant hideaway feel.
