The NoMad Hotel Review: In the heart of the historic NoMad neighborhood (North of Madison Square Park), this 168-room hotel is located in a fully restored, turn-of-the-century Beaux-Arts building. With interiors by French designer Jacques Garcia, rooms and public areas have an intimate and residential feel, with hand-selected, custom-designed furnishings and a curated art program, which includes Portraits de Villes photographs. Rooms offer views overlooking the atrium or the city, as well as embossed leather headboards, mahogany French writing desks, reclaimed maple hardwood floors, handmade vintage Heriz rugs, custom linens and bedding and bathrobes by Sferra and Frette. The European-style bathrooms --- many with freestanding claw-foot bathtubs --- feature exclusive Argan bath products by Côté Bastide. In-room amenities include a large, flat-screen LCD HD television with on-demand movies, iHome docking station, fully stocked mini-bar and complimentary wireless Internet access. Laptops and iPads are available upon request. For "The City That Never Sleeps," 'round-the-clock room service is offered, as well as access to the 24-hour fitness room. Chef Daniel Humm and restaurateur Will Guidara, of Eleven Madison Park, oversee the food and beverage program, inspired by chef Humm's time spent in Switzerland, California and the Big Apple. The restaurant is comprised of four rooms surrounding a glass-enclosed atrium. State-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, turn-key event planning services and specially catered menus by chef Humm are available for the more than 4,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor meeting, event and private dining space.
