The Oaks at Ojai Hotel Review: Those who want to see results from their vacation will love this resort in Ojai, a quiet artists' community between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. One all-inclusive, per-person, per-night price allows guests to participate in up to 16 activities a day, from indoor workouts like step aerobics, Pilates and yoga classes to outdoor adventures like hiking, mountain biking and rollerblading. Also included in the nightly rate are three daily meals, snacks, and beverages, all of which add up to a mere 1,200 calories. Meals are enjoyed as a group to encourage socializing and range from buffet-style breakfasts to three-course sit-down dinners. It's not all work here though, as facials, massages and makeovers are among the most popular activities. Despite the luxuries available, the general atmosphere is casual and laid-back, allowing guests to truly relax. Much like a typical hotel, the 46 guest rooms are clean and attractive. Most feature pine furniture, brightly colored fruit and floral bedspreads and off-white drapes. Televisions and phones can also be found in each room, but the pull of the sunny poolside lounges and the chance to truly disconnect from the world will probably prevent much TV-watching. Rooms range from standard twin lodges to newly-renovated double courtyard suites, which feature private patios complete with sunning chairs and water fountains. For the best value, if you’re visiting the Oaks by yourself, rooms can be shared with a fellow health-minded traveler. There's a two-night minimum stay, and the resort offers packages ranging from day-long to 30-night visits.
