Old Consulate Inn Hotel Review: This century-old Queen Anne home almost went unfinished when Port Townsend's economy hit the skids. Fortunately, it was sold for back taxes and completed. Now, this red house on the hill features spacious common areas filled with antique furniture. Unlike many B&Bs, it doesn't feel overstuffed. A warm welcome is fostered with large gourmet breakfasts, afternoon refreshments, evening desserts and complimentary cordials. All of the eight rooms have private baths and views that range from the garden to Port Townsend Bay. Among the most spectacular rooms is the Master Anniversary Suite with a turret sitting area, fireplace and four-poster bed. The third-floor Honeymoon Suite boasts a claw-foot tub in the bedroom and the best views in the house. A large game room offers rainy day recreation, and the outdoor hot tub is tucked into a glass-enclosed gazebo overlooking the bay.
