Old Jail Bed & Breakfast Hotel Review: If the thought of spending a night in jail is a bit off-putting, this place will make you change your mind. The inn is as cozy and romantic as can be, and if all jails were like it, recidivism rates would soar. Nestled into a hillside halfway between the St. Croix River and the historic Angel Hill District, it is perfectly situated for exploring the many charms of Taylors Falls. Guests can choose from three unique suites. The Overlook Suite is on the top floor, with a lovely view of the river and the town. The Cave Suite is named for the beer cave that inhabits it, dating from the days when the 1851 building was a saloon. The beer cave is no longer stocked, and today the stone archway leading to it frames a claw-foot tub. The namesake suite is the standalone Old Jail Cottage with a loft bedroom and wood-burning stove. All rooms are clean, well furnished and sun-drenched.
