Orange Tree Golf and Conference Center Hotel Review: Covering more than 128 acres and named for the orchard that once surrounded it, the Orange Tree's roots as a country club are readily apparent in the USGA-rated golf course that provides views from many of the 160 suites. At 740 square feet, suites are spacious, with king or two double beds plus a pullout sofa sleeper. TVs in living room, bedroom and bath plus wireless high-speed Internet access (for a fee) keep guests connected. A refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and toaster are handy for breakfasts and light meal preparation. Signatures of an older property, such as French doors opening to patios or terraces, add relevant charm. Dining options include Fairway Terrace, Cascades (poolside) and Longitude 10601, the resort’s fine dining venue. This is not a full service resort. The focus here is on golf. Spa treatments are available, but there is just one treatment room and the fitness center is small and minimally equipped. The resort does partner with La Camarilla Racquet & Fitness Club, about a half mile away. For a daily fee, Orange Tree guests can use the tennis and racquetball courts and the extensive workout equipment. With more than 10,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space, plus outdoor gardens and patios, the resort can handle medium size meetings and conferences.
