Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort & Spa Hotel Review: In the heart of Beaver Creek Village, at the base of the 11,000-foot peaks of the Gore Mountain Range, this ski-in/ski-out resort is a downhill enthusiast's dream. A towering antler chandelier, huge mountain-view windows and comfortable fireside seating add an authentic Western feel in the lobby. The 275 rooms come with DSL and wireless Internet access, fridges, humidifiers (useful at high altitude), and bathrobes and slippers. Some also have balconies, and all boast views of the majestic Rocky mountains or the year-round ice rink. The Allegria Spa in December 2006 completed an update that increased its size to 30,000 square feet—and added the Aqua Sanitas water sanctuary containing three new custom thermal pools, the Caldarium steam room, Tepidarium (warm heat) and Cascata Rain Showers. Family activities include twilight hikes, after-dark rafting and wildlife viewing with night vision goggles, and gathering around the outside fire pit for the one-of-a-kind s’more-gasbord with homemade marshmallows. An 18-hole championship golf course is within walking distance, with guaranteed tee times for hotel guests.
