Pismo Lighthouse Suites Hotel Review: Almost more like a slice of Cape Cod than of California, this contemporary hotel offers exceptionally comfortable and spacious suites. All have microwaves, refrigerators, coffee makers, and sofabeds, as well as a king-sized bed, high-speed Internet access, cable TV with on-demand movies, and Nintendo players. Many also have open-air balconies for letting in the sea breezes. The décor is contemporary, with royal blues and raspberry tones predominant. While it lacks the intimacy of a bed-and-breakfast, this inn boasts hotel-quality amenities, including an outdoor whirlpool tub and a swimming pool protected from strong winds by a plexiglass wall. Designed as a family resort, there are also ping-pong tables, badminton nets, a putting green, and even a human-sized chess set to play with. The continental breakfast buffet will fill everyone up, too. The only drawback is thin walls and ceilings, so expect some ambient noise from the neighboring suites.
