Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Plantation Hotel Review: Just outside Fort Lauderdale, this lakefront property looks like your standard, large-scale chain hotel from the outside, but the interior offers a pleasing, casual, contemporary style. Tropical colors (both muted and flashy) and hints of the West Indies define the décor in the 250 guest rooms and nine suites. All accommodations come with dual line phones with voicemail, high-speed Internet access, spacious desks, ergonomic chairs, Bath and Body Works amenities, pillow-top bedding and complimentary daily newspaper. A Wired-for-Business package (local and long distance calls in the U.S. and unlimited high-speed Internet access) is available for a small daily fee. There is also a club level floor with a private lounge. Bin 595 restaurant serves regional cuisine with Caribbean and Pan-Asian influences. Nightly specials focus on sushi, martinis and mussels, and Sunday Brunch features a Bloody Mary bar. Among the more than 10,000 square feet of function space are nine meeting rooms, the Cornerstone Ballroom and the scenic Lakeview Terrace for pre-function events. Additional facilities include an outdoor pool, Jacuzzi and fitness center.
