Palm Springs Rendezvous Hotel Review: Your parents or grandparents may not remember the Palm Springs Rendezvous, but they might recall The Miramar --- the hotel’s original name from the 1930s through the 1990s. With a Bermuda-style roof sheltering a quadrangle courtyard, The Rendezvous, as it’s affectionately referred to by guests, was once a relaxing hideaway for such screen sirens as Veronica Lake, Gloria Swanson and Marilyn Monroe. Ah, but this is not your parents Palm Springs sanctuary. This hipster hotel embraces a Fab ‘50s feel as it shakes and stirs with ten pool-facing rooms, complete with daily breakfast and afternoon cocktails included in the overnight rate. Each room’s name reflects the ambience that awaits behind closed doors. The Rebel Without a Cause abode pays tribute to the late James Dean, while the Crooners chamber recalls Palm Springs swinging days. Plenty of loungers encircle the elongated swimming pool with bright colored umbrellas providing extra shade at the counter-height cocktail tables. The hotel even has its own massage studio.
