Santa Fe Sage Inn Hotel Review: For years a very basic budget motel, this property underwent a lovely, and quite ambitious, redesign and top-to-bottom overhaul a couple of years ago. Now the Santa Fe Sage Inn, the property consists of five motel buildings consisting of a total of 157 rooms—the building farthest from the road offers the most peace and quiet. The property is adjacent to an affordable New Mexican restaurant and just down the street from Whole Foods; it's also across the street from the popular Santa Fe Farmers Market and close to the funky shops and fine restaurants of the up-and-coming Guadalupe District. Just a ten-minute walk north is the historic Santa Fe Plaza. Rooms are simply but handsomely furnished with Southwestern artwork and fabrics—there's also in-room Wi-Fi, phones with voicemail, coffeemakers, cable TV, and irons and boards. Refrigerators may be rented for $5 per day. The large (complimentary) parking lot, pool, and pet-friendly policy also help to make this property stand out from other affordable accommodations around town.
