Sheraton Salt Lake City Hotel Review: A warm, bright lobby with a huge brick fireplace welcomes guests to this large, corporate-minded hotel. While the location is downtown, it's not as central as some of its competitors. Try to time your visit with one of the incredible monthly jazz concerts held in a ballroom and hosted by The GAM Foundation, a local non-profit organization. Past performers have included Diana Krall, Ramsey Lewis, Joshua Redman, Dave Brubeck and Herbie Hancock. All of the rooms have balconies, so be sure to ask for one with a courtyard view. The outdoor pool is open year-round, as are the indoor whirlpool and sauna. The hotel's restaurant, Olio, serves innovative Italian fare, and the lounge, called simply The Bar, makes for a convenient pre- or post-meeting watering hole. Keep in mind that the meeting rooms are often booked, meaning lots of executive types wandering about, and the complimentary airport shuttle is limited to the hours between 6:00 a.m. and 11:30 p.m.
