Silverton Casino Hotel Lodge Review: The Silverton Casino Hotel's $150 million expansion and complete makeover in late 2004 transformed the resort into a rustic yet charming mountain-style lodge. Thus, the new name: Silverton Casino Hotel Lodge. There is 60,000 square feet of gaming action, including a high-limit area. The Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World features a 40,000-gallon aquarium, waterfall, fish-stocked stream, climbing wall, NASCAR display, archery and pistol ranges and a marine and boat showroom. The appealing 24-hour Sundance Grill, a fitness room and a lovely pool area with Jacuzzi are among the lodge's other attractions. The 300 remodeled guest rooms and suites feature a comfortable, upscale cabin décor with mini-bars, safes, high-speed Internet and movies. An amazing 117,000-gallon saltwater tank filled with 4,000 fish adjoins the popular Mermaid Restaurant & Lounge. The lively Shady Grove Lounge offers an indoor-outdoor ambience, a 24-hour bar, appetizers, foot-long hot dogs, overstuffed leather chairs, billiards, foosball, plasma TVs and a mini two-lane bowling alley that's housed inside an Airstream trailer. For a more sophisticated experience, head to the elegant lodge-style Twin Creeks Steakhouse, complete with a stone fireplace and leather-covered walls and booths. Complementing the lodge is an adjacent 324-space, full-service RV Park. The resort offers a free shuttle to the airport, as well as to the Las Vegas strip.
