South Seas Island Resort Hotel Review: The pricey seclusion and natural beauty of this resort attracts the rich and laid-back, as well as families who rent the up to four-bedrooms homes for reunions. Spring breakers on big budgets and tourists in need of pampering also like to call this place home away from home. Lots of meeting space in an island setting appeals to corporate crowds. Most of the rooms have a view of the Gulf of Mexico, but the real draw here is the abundance of activities offered on this 330-acre property. Along with many area fairways, a nine-course golf course is available on the grounds. Tennis courts are lit for night play, and water sports include parasailing, windsurfing and kayaking. Rent a sailboat, borrow a bike or lounge in one of the many swimming pools. Seven restaurants include both casual and gourmet. A spa, boutiques and some of the best shelling in Florida round out the experience. Meeting planners and team-building facilities are located on-site.
