The St. Regis Houston Hotel Review

: This high-rise hotel ranks among the best accommodations in Houston. Located on the edge of the city's ritzy River Oaks residential neighborhood, it's just minutes from downtown and the city's performing arts district, and only blocks from shopping mecca The Galleria. The St. Regis stands out from the moment you drive up its circular driveway set amid colorful flowers and elegant floral arrangements. The lobby sets a luxurious note with original paintings and sculptures, while mahogany and marble are used abundantly throughout the interior of the property. Its 232 guest rooms and suites are furnished with traditional dark wood pieces that accent the lighter shades of the carpeting, bedspreads and draperies, providing successful balance of dignified richness and light. Floor-to-ceiling windows, kitchenettes and wet bars are available in most rooms, while some boast city views, full kitchens, refrigerators and sitting areas. Enjoy modern dishes with a dash of Texas flavor in the Remington Restaurant, and sample California’s finest wines in The Wine Room. You can also enjoy drinks and live music on weekends at The Remington Bar or relax with afternoon tea Friday through Sunday in the sedate Tea Lounge.
