Sunset Station Hotel & Casino Review

: This 98-acre resort boasts Spanish-Mediterranean architecture, façades and furnishings, transporting guests to the various regions of Spain --- from its major cities to picturesque villages. The peach-hued twenty-story building is topped with Gothic-to-Ottoman-inspired gold and blue turrets. Sunburst chandeliers enhance the marble-floored lobby. The Spanish/Mediterranean theme is integrated into the furnishings and wall coverings of the 457 rooms, which include 70 suites. The casino’s intricately tiled floors are reminiscent of a town plaza. Iron balconies, rustic weathered brick fronts, fountains, ceramic-tiled fountains and brilliant colors carry out the motif. Serving as the casino's centerpiece, the Gaudi Bar is a tribute to the renowned architect, with its free-form mosaic, stained glass, rippling pillars and curved shot glasses. Among activities in the Kids Quest child care center are a karaoke star stage, a construction quarry and Barbieland. The outdoor swimming pool plaza overlooks an amphitheater for summer concerts. There’s a thirteen-screen movie theater, a 24-hour bowling alley and the always-packed, 800-seat Feast Buffet. The terrific Sonoma Cellar Steakhouse combines an impressive wine cellar with superb cuisine.
