Taj Boston Hotel Review: As the original Ritz-Carlton, which opened in 1927, this hotel retained all of the glitz and glamour when it changed hands to become a Taj property. Handsome artwork, antiques and marble adorn the interior, and rooms pay tribute to the style of provincial France. The hotel's Newbury Street location assures easy access to some of the city's best shopping and sightseeing, while the facilities are superb. Windows in the 273 guest rooms actually open out onto sweeping views of the Back Bay and Public Garden, and the suites boast working fireplaces (with a fireplace butler to go with them --- along with a bath butler and a technology butler). For a truly luxe stay, book the Tata Suite, named after the founder of the Taj hotel group and graced with elegant Indian accents. The hotel has an on-site fitness center, and dining venues include the bar, a café, a lounge, the dining room and room service. One of the finest high teas is the city is offered at this property.
