Topping Rose House Hotel Review: Built in 1842, Topping Rose House takes its name from the original owner and resident, Judge Abraham Topping Rose. Current co-owners Bill Campbell and Simon Critchell restored the house so that it retains a sense of history while offering guests modern comforts. All rooms feature rugs designed by Madeline Weinrib, bath amenities by Naturopathica, flat-screen televisions, iPod docks and customizable mini-bars. Open and airy, yet carefully coordinated, rooms blend modern design with authentic historical details. Chef Tom Colicchio oversees the entire property as well as the Topping Rose House restaurant. Fresh ingredients from the Topping Rose Farm and local community appear in dishes on the seasonal menu, and guests can buy out the restaurant for special events. Also available for meetings and weddings are the Barn and Studio. The Spa, run by local institution Naturopathica, offers holistic massages and facials designed to enhance and promote health. Topping Rose House displays art curated by Christine Wächter. The concierge staff can assist guests in planning trips to nearby beaches, vineyards, golf courses, tennis courts, antique stores, art museums and galleries.
