TownePlace Suites Minneapolis Downtown Hotel Review: Forget everything you've ever known about budget hotel lobbies. This one houses funky art glass, a billiard table and loads of nooks and crannies. If you're looking for the front desk, it's tucked into the cranny to the right. Extended-stay properties are en vogue, and Marriott's newest addition to this genre offers a rare treat for travelers watching their pocketbooks. For half the price of a downtown room, guests get more space and door-front access to the hopping Warehouse District. The rooms are big and bright, if a bit utilitarian. Business travelers go for the Studio Executive Suites, which have a second room set up as an office, rather than a den. It's just an extra 20 bucks for a two-bedroom suite---definitely worth the price.
