The Westin Convention Center, Pittsburgh Hotel Review: Given its location adjacent to the David L. Lawrence Convention Center, this hotel is surprisingly pretty. While the exterior is sleek and corporate-looking, the interior has a warm and luxurious feel to it. Added to its attractiveness is an 8,000-square-foot executive fitness center (with a sauna, aerobics and more), whose extensive selection of equipment overlooks an indoor lap pool. The guest rooms and suites are beautifully decorated with taupe and white tones that extend to the tasteful, large-checked pattern on the walls. Armchairs are contemporary and comfy, while the signature Heavenly Beds really do look heaven sent, with their plump white comforters. Coffee makers are stocked with Starbucks, and views look onto the downtown business district. The hotel has more than 35,000 square-feet of meeting and exhibit space to complement the convention center, which can by reached by skyway. Dining venues include the Original Fish Market, a local tradition. Courtesy transport is offered weekdays to the central business district and some attractions.
