The Whitehall Hotel Review: A soothing European elegance permeates this hotel. Better yet, good taste abounds, from the artworks in the public spaces to the cool and restful colors of the rooms and suites. Some of the beautiful lobby furniture dates from the property's days as a luxury high-rise in the 1920s. Though it is smaller than many of its neighbors in the Magnificent Mile area, this hotel has plenty of impressive amenities. Among them are 24-hour room service, weekday newspapers, robes, 24-hour security and pet-friendly accommodations. In the Pinnacle Level rooms, guests can enjoy continental breakfast, snacks and evening cocktails. Fax service is also available in the accommodations on these floors, while all rooms are equipped with multi-line phones. The house restaurant, Fornetto Mei, serves good, Italian food. Magnificent Mile shopping and Rush Street nightlife are just outside the door, while Chicago's Loop financial district and sights such as the Museum Campus and Grant Park are nearby.
