The
race to capture a share of the SUV market is very much
on. Chevrolet adds to it an entry-level, simple but
functional option with great styling. A base model hovers
around $22,000 and for that, you get a lot of modular
cargo space, a V6 engine and a comfortable ride.
From
the exterior styling you might expect a much more sophisticated
vehicle, but the brand with the bow tie has kept everything
simple and functional. The center stack instrument panel
remains clean and well organized, incorporating an armrest
unit with storage for small items. On the steering wheel,
you’ll find the basic functions for your radio
etc. With seating for five adults and a 60/40 split
folding Multi-Flex™ sliding rear seat, you can
instantly decide on the adequate configuration for your
mission. There is an eight inch adjustment run in total,
so you may fit in that larger suitcase or get more leg
room should the cargo area be clear.
The ride is based on a four-wheel independent
suspension system using 16 inch wheels stopped by ABS
with traction control. The car also comes in all-wheel
drive.
As
with all GM products, the vehicle is equipped to
handle OnStar and XM
Satellite Radio. Go ahead and
test drive one. It’s so good-looking,
who knows, you might fall in love.
