McCormick's Palm Springs Collector Car AuctionHot Cars in the Desert
Auto enthusiasts will once again make their way out to the idyllic desert oasis of Palm Springs, CA this November for the 51st edition of entrepreneur Keith McCormick's semiannual car auction. Now in its 25th year, McCormick's Palm Springs Collector Car Auction shows no signs of slowing down, with the latest event bringing over 500 rare and collectible vehicles to the auctioning block over a long weekend at the Spa Resort Casino. Taking advantage of Palm Springs' reputation as a celebrity getaway, the auction has in the past featured automobiles belonging to everyone from Frank Sinatra to Queen Elizabeth II. However, despite its high roller reputation, McCormick's auction asks a reasonable $300 fee from sellers along with a 5 per cent commission. For those looking to bid, buy, or perhaps just gawk, entry to Saturday and Sunday's auctions is $15 per person, or $25 for both days. Friday evening's event is free to all registered bidders. When: November 18-20, 2011
