Monterey Historic RacesHistory Comes to Life
Every automobile enthusiast should attend the Monterey Historic Races at least once. At this tribute to motor racing history, more than 375 classic racers and sports cars will compete—in fourteen different race groups—on the track at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. Racecar driver Mario Andretti, the event’s guest of honor, will be on hand to sign autographs and drive demonstration laps in his Formula One-winning Lotus 79. Historic Formula One cars will have their own racing class. The featured marque this year will be Alfa Romeo, and a 1938 Alfa Romeo 8C-2900B Mille Miglia Spyder once driven by Phil Hill will be on display. In addition to the races, there will also be an open paddock, where visitors can get up close to the vehicles and talk to the drivers. When: August 15-17, 2008
