UK Company Unveils New Clean-Burning Synthetic Fuel

With gas prices once again on the rise and no foreseeable end to their upward march in the near future, 2011 looks poised to be another frustrating year at the pump for motorists. However, one UK company is doing its best to relieve consumers' oil barrel blues with an all-new synthetic fuel that has the potential to both reduce carbon emissions and significantly lower gas costs. Developed in secret over the last four years at the renowned Rutherford Appleton Laboratory near Oxford, Cella Energy's hydrogen-based fuel marks an important first step towards oil independence and could eventually contribute to gas prices plummeting to as low as $1.50 a gallon.

Utilizing micro beads as a means of hydrogen storage and conveyance, Cella Energy's innovative new product can be used in existing gasoline-powered vehicles without modification, making it a viable alternative fuel that can be easily integrated into the existing auto market. Once touted as the energy source of the future, hydrogen-based fuels have largely been abandoned in recent years due to the difficulty and high cost of storage. However, Cella Energy scientists claim that their synthetic fuel is both consumer-friendly and cost-effective. Although the English energy firm is still in the early phases of testing the product, hopes are high that the clean-burning, carbon-free fuel could have a widespread impact across the transportation segment, with the potential for use in automobiles, airplanes and other vehicles.
