KVH TracVision A7 Mobile Satellite System Review

ESPN in Your Escalade

KVH's TracVision A7 Mobile Satellite Systems

For increasingly shrinking attention spans comes KVH Industries’ TracVision mobile satellite TV system with DIRECTV and up to 185 channels. The 45-pound antenna “dome” comes in silver or black and mounts to the roof racks of SUVs or minivans. The signals are beamed into the car’s rear video screens—and yes, getting satellite TV in your dash-mounted navigation screen is very illegal. This new form of on-road entertainment is very cool and best of all, limits the need of ever having to speak to fellow passengers again.

Price: $2,995; DIRECTV mobile service sold separately

TracVision reaches fullest potential when used with 40-inch Samsung LCD flat-panel TV mounted in the trunk. Sadly, when so equipped, Hummer H2's rear visibility becomes even worse than it normally is.
