2012 Chrysler 300 SRT8 Review

High-Performance Sedan

In short: A powerful and luxurious full-size sedan.

The SRT8 edition of Chrysler's large luxury sedan packs a powerful punch with its sizable 6.4-liter V8 HEMI; however, horsepower isn't the only thing the 300 has going for it. Shooting from 0-60 in a blink-and-you-miss-it 4.5 seconds, the 300 SRT8 accordingly comes equipped with quick-to-action Brembo brakes and two-mode adaptive damping suspension for a fine-tuned ride that is both fast and smooth. Drivers can keep track of their car's performance with the full-color Electronic Vehicle Information Center, which records 0-60, one-eighth mile and one-quarter mile times, as well as 60-0 braking distance and g-force distribution.

Other innovative standard features include the Uconnect Touch infotainment system with DVD, satellite radio and navigation, 19-speaker surround sound and keyless entry and ignition. Advanced safety technology such as blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control and the ParkView rear camera are aimed not only at passenger protection, but also active accident avoidance. Starting at just over $47,000, the Chrysler 300 SRT8 doesn't come cheap; however, its combination of high-performance engineering and 21st-century luxury accoutrements make it more than worth the sticker price.
