2013 Fiat 500 BEV Review

Electric Italian Minicar

A three-quarter rear view of a prototype of Fiat 500 BEV

In short: A battery-powered, Italian-made electric minicar.

Scheduled for a late 2012 release date, the Fiat 500 BEV is still largely shrouded in secrecy. However, what we do know is this: the Italian-made electric minicar is sure to be a clever mix of fun and efficiency. Like the Mini E, the 500 BEV is likely to sacrifice its rear-row seating to make room for lithium-ion battery storage. While specifications have yet to be released, expect the hatchback's high-power electric powertrain to offer the equivalent of 100 horsepower and achieve a range of 100 miles between charges.
