In short: A utility-minded, family-friendly crossover wagon.

Looking more SUV-like than ever, the latest iteration of the long-running Subaru Outback offers a sporty and stylish take on the classic family wagon. Coming standard with symmetrical all-wheel drive and Subaru's Vehicle Dynamics Control with traction control, this sure-footed station wagon can handle curves and slick asphalt with confidence, making it ideal for family trips to the mountains. The Outback's 3.6-liter horizontally-opposed BOXER engine makes it especially fit for steep slopes and heavy hauling, offering 256 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque. Our Limited edition tester came laden with luxury touches like leather-trimmed upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control and a 440-watt Harman Kardon premium audio system.
