In short: A smart and sporty small SUV.

Ford Escape Review

Extensively updated for the 2013 model year, the all-new Ford Escape is as smart as it is stylish, providing the drivability and fuel economy of a sedan with the versatility and extra cargo room of an SUV. A 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 boosts the nearly 2-ton SUV from 0-60 in a spirited 7 seconds, while the Escape's sedan-like handling make it ideal for winding country roads as well as cramped city conditions. We missed the presence of a sunroof on joyrides around town; however, we were consoled by the 18.1 mpg that we achieved in our tester.

Our Platinum White Escape Titanium came fitted with a host of intelligent, driver-friendly features including the SYNC infotainment system with MyFord Touch, rain-sensing windshield wipers, push-button start and a fuel-sipping Eco mode. An advanced airbag system is complemented by intuitive technology like blind spot detection, park assist, a rear view camera and a reverse sensing system that alerts drivers of approaching objects while backing up. Loading up the Escape's spacious cargo area is easy with its 60-40 fold-flat seats and hands-free lift gate operation.
