2009 Hummer H3T Alpha Review
Basic Instinct 3
|
| In
short: A hardy five-passenger, full-time four-wheel drive pickup. |
Continuing to draw on the H3’s structure and styling, this rugged, fun-to-drive mid-size pickup features a five-passenger crew cab with a separate five-foot-long bed, which Hummer claims is spacious enough to carry two dirt bikes or a snowmobile. While the H3T Alpha may seem sluggish because of its 5,069-pound-bulk, the vehicle is a dynamo off-road with its powerful 5.3-liter V8 engine, ground-gripping full-time four-wheel drive and protective underbody shielding. Don’t worry though—along with its tough demeanor, this truck has its softer side. Inside its cabin, passengers can enjoy standard features such as Bluetooth wireless capability, an in-dash six-CD player, a good radio, fold-flat rear seats and OnStar. Unfortunately, the cabin itself doesn't provide much headroom and the back seating is cramped. Among the model’s options, which were included in our tester, are leather furnishings, a huge power sunroof and a rearview camera system.
