2008 Kia Optima EX Review

Concealed Appeal

A three-quarter front view of a red 2008 Kia Optima EX

In short: A feature-packed and value-oriented family sedan.

his well-mannered mid-sized family sedan opts for substance over show. Though wrapped in an unassuming body, the Kia Optima EX’s appeal really shines when considering the car’s price and the value within. Inside the automobile are quality features such as leather upholstery, an eight-way power driver’s seat and decently spaced rear seats. Families of five will find the Optima’s comfortable interior and roomy trunk suitable for daily excursions. A front-wheel drive, an all-wheel independent suspension and power-assisted disc brakes give the vehicle its decent road manners, and though the Optima is powered by a four-cylinder engine, it zips around town with ease. Our tester came with some of the EX’s numerous options, such as traction control, anti-lock braking, a power sunroof, heated front seats, power-adjustable pedals, a rear window manual sunshade and an Infinity audio system.
