2008 Mazda 5 Grand Touring Review

Multi-Purpose Practicality

A three-quarter front view of a 2008 Mazda 5 Grand Touring

In short: A totally practical small crossover.

Meant to be a multi-purpose people mover, the Mazda 5 is an efficiently designed compact minivan that still manages to accommodate six passengers comfortably. The three-row vehicle—powered by a 2.3-liter, four-cylinder engine—features sliding doors as well as theater-style seating, meaning each row of seats is higher than the one preceding, giving good visibility to all passengers. The third row seats are split in half and can be individually flattened to create a flat load area of 44.4 cubic feet. Throughout the automobile are useful compartments, including a large glovebox and half-liter cup holders in each front door pocket.
