This long-awaited luxe crossover, spotted in the Sex and the City movie, makes a fashionable and versatile accessory for weekend warriors. The cozy five-passenger GLK350 is powered by a 268-horsepower V6 engine and is equipped with a 4MATIC all-wheel drive, a seven-speed automatic transmission, disc brakes and an agile independent suspension. Graceful on the road and capable of 0-60 mph acceleration in 6.5 seconds, the athletic SUV moves surprisingly like a sedan. While it gets the typical fuel economy of a vehicle weighing little more than two tons, the GLK350 is a well-balanced utility-minded ride that is relatively affordable for its segment. The Mercedes-Benz’s second row seats fold (providing the sumptuous auto with up to 54.7 cubic feet of cargo space) and it boasts roof rails ideal for hauling bikes or a canoe.
