Here’s a Corvette that’ll give automakers Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini a run for their money. Even traffic cops may have a hard time keeping up, as this coupe has a top speed of 205 mph, not that we advocate doing anything to attract extra attention. However, the limelight is exactly what this American supercar craves. Based off the Z06, Chevrolet's Corvette ZR1 features a muscular, rear-spoiler-decked body and a hood notable for its window displaying the top of the engine’s decaled intercooler. The powerplant under the hood is a 638-horsepower LS9 supercharged V8 engine, which allows the car to accelerate to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds.
Along with being extremely fast, this automobile exhibits good road manners with smooth shifting (it possesses a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission), and a standard magnetic selective ride control that gives the vehicle decent traction and cornering. Brembo carbon-ceramic brake rotors, typically found on even pricier exotics, are standard. Inside, the ZR1 shows off dual cockpit seats and a seven-speaker audio system with a CD player, MP3 playback, auxiliary input jack and steering wheel-mounted audio controls. An upgraded trim, the 3ZR (as opposed to the standard 1ZR) offers Bluetooth connectivity, side airbags, heated six-way power leather seats and a custom leather-decked interior.
