2010 Ford Taurus SE Review

A Delightful Reboot

A three-quarter front view of a 2010 Ford Taurus

In short: A muscular five-passenger sedan loaded with accessories.

C
ompletely revamped for the 2010 model year, Ford’s Taurus breaks away from the non-descript contours of its previous incarnation, now showcasing a newly refined and athletic body. This reliable full-sized sedan is designed to be less of a utilitarian people-mover—although it does seat five passengers—and more of an upscale driver-focused automobile. A 3.5-liter V6 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission powers the Taurus, which competes with the Toyota Camry and Hyundai Genesis. The front-wheel-drive vehicle comes as either an SE, SEL, Limited or SHO trim, with the base-level SE featuring cloth seats, a six-way power driver’s seat, steering wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, and a single-disc CD/MP3 audio system with six speakers and an auxiliary audio input jack. An Easy Fuel capless fuel filler and twin chrome exhaust tips are also standard. Other features (depending on the trim level and available technology package) include an adaptive cruise control with collision warning; blind spot information system with cross-traffic alert; rain-sensing wipers; heated and cooled front seats; and voice-activated navigation.
