2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI Review
short: A fuel-efficient and value-packed compact sedan.
True, the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta TDI is a diesel-run car, but it won’t be belching a plume of sooty, smelly exhaust. This elegantly designed compact sedan contains an efficient (and turbocharged) 2.0-liter diesel engine that is clean enough to comply with environmental regulations in all 50 states, and it may even qualify buyers for a $1,300 Federal income tax credit. Along with its good environmental hygiene, this non-hybrid vehicle is also frugal with fuel, so much so that it is able to achieve up to 41 mpg on the highway.
The fun-to-drive TDI is geared towards value, offering impressive fuel economy, a durable engine, a comfortable interior and quality standard features all for a relatively inexpensive starting price. Standard to this five-passenger automobile are heatable front seats; an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat; a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel; a trip computer; and a six-disc in-dash CD changer with ten speakers, MP3 capability, an auxiliary input jack and Sirius satellite radio. A powered glass sunroof is optional.
