2010 Volkswagen GTI Review

The Original German Hot Hatch

A three-quarter front view of a 2010 Volkswagen GTI

In short: A characteristically quick and lively 5-door hatchback.

The latest edition of VW's iconic hot hatch features the same elements that made the GTI a hit when it first arrived on American shores nearly 30 years ago—cool looks, lively handling, and fine-tuned German engineering. The 2010 GTI also benefits from a reworked suspension and the addition of XDS electronic transverse differential lock, which, in layman's terms, means fun and fast cornering around even the sharpest of turns.
