If
you are prepared to invest $50,000 or so in a great
car that would offer you dependability and great resale
value, opt for the new E350. It is perfect for a role
as an all-around luxury sedan.
Updated
styling bumper-to-bumper, a well-designed cabin with
no-nonsense dash functions and a sober yet responsive
engine make this passenger car a favorite. In fact,
if we were in the market for a car, this would be the
one. Yes, there is an E500 out there, but we were quite
seduced by the great gas mileage of our tester. It comes
with a sequential multiport fuel injection system, which
explains the efficiency. It’s a true pleasure
to drive and to be driven in.
There
is plenty of room for five with multiple climate zones,
and the warm polished burl walnut trim is always welcoming
as are the fine leather, 10-way power adjustable and
three-position memory front seats. With all this interior
space and a roomy trunk, you might think you were driving
a bulky car. Not at all. It is well-proportioned and
is effortless to drive in any situation as well as during
parking. And acceleration is quite decent when needed.
Our tester even had a few extras such as a sunroof package
with power rear sunshade and rear window roller blinds.
To top it off, the killer Harman/Kardon 9-speaker audio
system with 6-disc CD changer is music to your ears.
So what are you waiting for to go in style?
